About Just for Cats Boarding Cattery in Cumbria
As a family we live and work on our smallholding, near Armathwaite in the Eden Valley, where we started our first pet orientated businesses - Posh Pets Country Club and Just for Cats.
We now also own and personally manage -
- Paws to Rest. A pet cremation and burial service available for owners in Cumbria South West Scotland and further afield. This has been running now for 19 years and is open 7 days a week, helping to give peace of mind to pet owners - many of whom have returned more than once.
- Paws to Splash. A canine hydrotherapy pool. For those dogs who suffer from a wide variety of ailments such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, etc and before and after operations. It is also a great fitness and conditioning exercise. This was a new concept for the dog owning public in the area in 1999. However, vets quickly appreciated its value and the pool is now run 5 days a week by qualified therapists.
Ruth has gained -
- diploma of Kennel and Cattery Management through the Animal Care College
- qualifications in Canine/Feline/Equine/Human Bowen Technique therapy
- diploma as a General Counsellor and in Human and Pet Bereavement (MBAC)
- all staff hold a Certificate in Animal First Aid and have first hand knowledge of handling pets.
Through our experience in all these services we offer advice and guidance on various pet issues along with input from many local vets. We run Basic Animal First Aid Courses with the co-operation of a local vet/veterinary nurse 2 - 3 times a year.
