Welcome to Just for Cats Boarding Cattery in Cumbria
Just for Cats opened in 1988 in association with Posh Pets Country Club. As long term animal lovers experienced in their well-being, our aim is to offer friendly and welcoming accomodation for your pets.
The Cattery
Your cats are offered spacious rooms with large individual runs, chairs and scratching posts. Numbers are limited to enable us to offer all pets that personal touch and extra TLC which is so important-especially when they are away from home. Over the years our cattery units have changed with the times. We now have 12 airy, semi-indoor units for up to 2 cats in each, situated in the orchard and overlooking the Pennine hills. In 2011 we plan to open a further 6-12 units-large personalised rooms with their own runs, climbing frames, shelves and toys which can accommodate a whole family.
Feline Advisory Bureau
We are also a Feline Advisory Bureau Listed Cattery. This charity has become synonymous with expertise in both veterinary feline treatment and cat care in general. Our customers can be sure of our standards of construction and care and feel comfortable knowing that we enjoy the backup and expertise of FAB.
To qualify for listing it is compulsory to:
- Meet the requirements of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Model Licence Conditions & Guidance for Cat Boarding Establishments 1995
- Be constructed and managed to FAB standards (as laid out in the FAB Standard for Construction and Management of Boarding Catteries and the FAB Boarding Cattery Manual)
- Have knowledge and practical application of good management standards
- This also involves reaffirming management protocol annually, being inspected on a regular basis and continual assessments with reviews to FAB by clients.
